Peer Review Politicy

Arbitration system

All research papers received within the Call For Papers period until the closing date and provided they are original and unpublished, will be evaluated. The Editorial Board is in charge, in the first instance, of analyzing the theme and the minimum formal requirements. Those papers that do not conform to the call will be rejected and their authors will be notified.

The texts approved in the first instance will be sent without stating the author's name and affiliation to two external evaluators of the publishing institution who will assess the quality of the subject and its contents for possible publication.

Obligations of reviewers

The external evaluators must fill out and send a small form administered by the journal in which they will define the relevance, clarity and originality of the work, accepting the article with or without minor modifications. In the event that it is accepted with major modifications, it will require a third evaluation. The reviewers undertake to communicate the acceptance or rejection of the research work, accompanying their decision with a brief report within a maximum period of one month.

If one of the evaluators' reports is negative, a third report will be requested. In the event that the positive report also shows doubts about the publication of the article, the editorial board may decide not to publish said work without resorting to a third evaluator and will notify the author of this.

Reviewers agree to follow minimum ethical and professional guidelines:

  • They will only accept manuscripts whose contents are adequate to the knowledge of the person conducting the evaluation.
  • Evaluations will be carried out that provide substantial improvements to the manuscript, avoiding personal comments that disrespect the person evaluated.
  • They will not contact the person evaluated, maintaining anonymity at all times.
  • They must notify the journal management of a possible conflict of interest upon receiving a manuscript for evaluation.

The director of the journal or the editorial coordinator will be able to contact the main author through the contact information provided in the submission, informing him of the acceptance or rejection of her work. In the event that the article has been accepted with modifications, the evaluators will provide an information sheet with which the authors must incorporate the suggested changes to improve the publication. Said changes will be communicated to the direction of the journal in the body of the article or in an attached document.

The journal committee may reject an article if the changes marked in its evaluation are not incorporated before publication. In all cases of acceptance or rejection, electronic communication will be maintained with the authors.

External blind peer reviewers

ASRI journal admits original research papers that are submitted to the supervision of the editorial board and to external review by two blind peers reviewes, considered as experts in the topics proposed in the research papers.

ASRI Journal arbitration system uses external evaluators from Rey Juan Carlos University to review research papers through the blind peer procedure prior to their acceptance. Only 10% of evaluators from Rey Juan Carlos University will be used, the remaining 90% being external to said institution.

ASRI Journal allows authors to suggest names of external reviewers for their articles.

ASRI has a bank of reviewers that publishes on its own page where its name appears, and its affiliation. This database contains important information about your contact address, the subject specialty or area of knowledge of the reviewers, and the languages in which they can evaluate.

Blind peer review guarantee

ASRI journal has submission rules for authors that indicate that they must submit the manuscript without personal data to guarantee the anonymity of the evaluation. The data of university affiliation, postal address, email, and brief curriculum will be incorporated into the platform in an attached file.
