Abstract

The educational video has become an essential tool for virtual teaching as a significant part of the latest learning methods. In this study, 300 audiovisual productions are examined with the primary goal of developing a production model that improves the students' educational experience.

Author Biographies

Bastida, M., Rey Juan Carlos University

She is a doctoral student in Social and Legal Sciences (research line in Communication) and has a degree in Audiovisual Communication from the Rey Juan Carlos University. She coordinator of Audiovisual Production in the Academic Content Production Unit of the Center for Innovation in Digital Education of the URJC. She is a member of the Cyberimaginary research group. Technical coordinator in the layout, correction and design of books from the collections 'Narrative Studies', 'Communication Studies' and 'Visual Culture Studies' of the Editorial Icon 14. Professional in post-production, non-linear editing and color correction. She has participated in conferences and congresses with presentations on audiovisual production and educational video.

Fernando Hernández, Rey Juan Carlos University

He has a doctorate in Audiovisual Communication from the Complutense University of Madrid, Outstanding “Cum Laude” for his doctoral thesis, Carlos Blanco, screenwriter (2005). Associate Professor at the Villanueva University Center since 2006. He currently teaches the subjects of Image Culture, Image Analysis and Audiovisual Text Theory. Associate Professor at the Rey Juan Carlos University where he teaches Structure and Media System subjects. It organizes Audiovisual Conferences such as New Frontiers of Fiction (2015) and Women who count (2017) at the Villanueva University Center for which it has outstanding professionals in the sector such as Peter Welter -executive producer of Game of Thrones- or Javier Olivares -creator of The Ministry of Time. He participates in collective publications such as Cine Pensado (Sevilla, 2016, Fila Siete Ed.) or Analysis of sequences (Madrid, 2012, Icono 14) among others. He also publishes in Open Area. He is currently writing a musical film for the producer Nobody is Perfect (Perfect Strangers) which is in pre-production. He is also a regular critic for the audiovisual magazine "Fila 7" for which he covers Festivals such as Cannes (2014-2019).

Miranda, J., Rey Juan Carlos University

He is an Associate Professor at the Rey Juan Carlos University. Audiovisual Technician with extensive experience in the production, production and post-production of educational videos and MOOCs. Regarding my career as a teacher, I have to say that I have spent five years communicating knowledge on topics always related to the audiovisual universe and that I have a specialty in both face-to-face and online pedagogy. Among the subjects taught, I would like to highlight the following: “Audiovisual Production: Cinema”, “Audiovisual Production: Television”, “Audiovisual Technologies: Camera and Sound”, “Creation of main and secondary characters”, “Subtitling and support products”.
