Abstract

The animation project La vela (De Miguel, 2023) uses 2D animation to portray the life of an elderly man during COVID-19, reflecting on the digital exclusion faced by older generations. Inspired by the personal story of a grandfather and his granddaughter, the film highlights the isolation experienced during lockdown while promoting empathy and intergenerational connection. Methodologically, it is structured through a three-axis helical model linked to the project’s phases and to the academic profile that combines researcher and artist.

Author Biography

Laura De Miguel Álvarez, Universidad Complutense de Madrid

Profesora Titular del Departamento de Dibujo y Grabado de la Facultad de Bellas Artes de la Universidad Complutense de Madrid, dentro del área de Proyectos y Producción Artística. Cuenta con dos sexenios de investigación reconocidos. De perfil multidisciplinar, ha desarrollado una trayectoria que combina distintos lenguajes expresivos, entre ellos el cortometraje, la instalación, el dibujo, la pintura, el grabado, la photoperformance y la fotografía. Su investigación y práctica artística muestran un interés particular en el potencial de la imagen como herramienta de sensibilización y la experiencia de vida como motor impulsor de proyectos artísticos. Además de su labor docente en planes formativos de Bellas Artes, ha participado activamente en Proyectos de Innovación Educativa en colaboración con diferentes universidades. Su actividad se ha centrado en iniciativas vinculadas a la enseñanza del dibujo como motor epistémico, a la relación entre investigación artística y transformación social, así como a proyectos que exploran las sinergias entre arte, ciencia y tecnología como aliados para la formación integral de futuros profesionales del ámbito creativo.
