The following miscellaneous issue brings together a collection of contributions that address, from contemporary and interdisciplinary perspectives, the relationships between artistic creation, critical theory, technology, and sociocultural context. Continuing with the journal's editorial line, this volume positions art and new media as a field of knowledge production, capable of articulating analytical discourses and generating new forms of aesthetic experience.
Among the main thematic lines, reflections on the theoretical and aesthetic frameworks of contemporary art stand out, with special attention to the complexity of the processes of signification and the relationship between the material and the symbolic. It also includes approaches to artistic research as a methodology, as well as studies focused on practices linked to the field of sound and experimentation.
This issue also addresses the role of technological mediation, both in the creative processes and in the conservation and analysis of cultural heritage, along with reflections on the transformation of the museum within the framework of critical museology and the impact of digital environments on audience relations. Similarly, it includes contributions in the field of art education and cultural mediation, highlighting the educational potential of creative practices in contemporary contexts.
